(Last Updated On: December 16, 2019)

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) deadline for migration to NCPDP SCRIPT version 2017071 is JANUARY 1, 2020. After January 1, 2020, customers who have not migrated to the new SCRIPT standard will be out of compliance with Medicare Part D E-Prescribing mandates that apply to their organization.

The ChartMaker 2018.2 (fv 6.4.0) release was updated to use the latest, NCPDP 2017071 schema, format for electronic prescribing of medications.

This means that if you have NOT updated to the ChartMaker 2018.2 (fv6.4.0) version, or higher, of the ChartMaker Medical Suite, you will be out of compliance with Medicare Part D related to e-prescribing. Do note that Surescripts will be providing a translation of data formats (those sent in the old format will converted to the new format) to ensure that electronic prescriptions are still processed successfully after January 1, 2020. However, because the new prescription format is more specific, it is possible that Surescripts translation may not be perfect, and there may be some problems when sending those prescriptions in the old format.

With this in mind, we recommend you upgrade to the latest version of the ChartMaker Medical Suite as soon as possible.
