Practice Manager: Administration > Preferences > System/Practice Level Preferences > Charge

What do I need to know?

The Charge Preferences section of the Charge tab, in the Maintain System Default Preferences dialog, has been updated with a Use Facility POS for Next CPT option. This preference will be unchecked by default, and if inactive (unchecked), when processing multiple pending charges for a single encounter, the system will default the Facility POS for the initial charge (if there is no Facility POS, the Procedure POS will be used), and if that POS is modified it will retain that same modified POS for the next charge processed.

If this preference is active (checked), when processing the multiple pending charges individually (by highlighting the initial charge for the encounter in Pending Charges screen, processing the charge, then highlighting the second charge for the encounter in the Pending Charge screen, processing that charge, etc.) the POS will default to the Facility POS for the initial charge (if there is no Facility POS, the Procedure POS will be used), and then the Procedure POS will default for each subsequent pending charge processed. If this preference is active (checked), when processing multiple pending charges by using the Select All Related Charges button or highlighting all the pending charges you want to process in the Pending Charges screen, and then processing the charges, the system will default the Facility POS (if no Facility POS, the Procedure POS will be used), for the initial and each subsequent charge processed.

Clinical: Reports > MIPS Dashboard > Configuration/Promoting Interoperability

What do I need to know?

The Promoting Interoperability Measure Selection section of the MIPS Dashboard Configuration dialog has been updated with a Query PDMP for at least one prescription option for the 2021, and later, reporting period.

When this option is checked, a Yes will appear in the Results column for the Querying the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) – BONUS measure, in the Promoting Interoperability screen, and 10 bonus points will be given for attesting that you queried the PDMP for at least one prescription.

When this option is not checked, a NO will appear in the Results column for the Querying the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) – BONUS measure, and 0 bonus points will be given for this measure. In addition, the screen layout of the MIPS Dashboard Configuration dialog has been redesigned to better display the various options available. The Quality Reporting and Improvement Activity Adjustments sections have been moved to the lower left of the dialog.

The Querying the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) – BONUS measure, in the Promoting Interoperability dialog, has been updated, for MIPS 2021, so that Numerator and Denominator columns have a N/A indicator and the Results and Score column are now dependent on how the Query PDMP for at least one prescription option is configured in the MIPS Dashboard Configuration dialog.

If the Query PDMP for at least one prescription option is checked, a Yes will appear in the Results column, and 10/10 points will appear in the Score column. If this option is not checked, a No will appear in the Results column, and a 0/10 will appear in the Score column.
