STI Now Certified for E-Prescribing of Controlled Substances
STI Computer Services Announced the ChartMaker® Medical Suite has been certified to meet the mandatory certification criteria identified in 21 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1311, Subpart C of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Electronic Prescribing Of Controlled Substances (EPCS) Interim Final Rule (IFR).
The ChartMaker Medical Suite from STI Computer Services was certified by InfoGard to meet the Electronic Prescriptions for Controlled Substances (EPCS) Interim Final Rule to send and receive e-Prescriptions of Controlled Substances. Of the 663 SureScripts EMR Vendors with ePrescribing capability only 29 have attained EPCS Certification. InfoGard Laboratories is an independent third party laboratory providing professional security services to the Federal, Financial, and Healthcare industries. InfoGard was the first laboratory to receive approval from the Drug Enforcement Agency to test and certify software applications under the EPCS IFR.
