STI Clients Attesting for Meaningful Use & ChartMaker PatientPortal
This correspondence applies to you if you have any intention of attesting for Meaningful Use in 2014 – either Stage 1 or Stage 2.
As you may know the Final Rule regarding attesting for Meaningful Use was published just last week. Although it may appear, in a few rare situations, that you may be able to use the 2011 Criteria, not utilizing the PatientPortal is not an option. Beginning with 2014 attestations you must engage your patients by using a portal. You MUST be using the ChartMaker Medical Suite PatientPortal during your attestation period.
We have offered the ChartMaker Medical Suite PatientPortal since early 2013 and we have sent newsletters, emails and messages advising you to sign up.
For those of you who have completed the enrollment process but have not followed through with the web training or fully implemented the portal, you need to take steps now to move this forward. We cannot do this for you. Please take the classes and develop your process to engage your patients.
If you are currently using The ChartMaker Medical Suite PatientPortal – Congratulations.
If you have enrolled but have not taken the necessary web training classes, the email that was sent to you contains the information to assist you in moving this forward. Please follow the instructions and sign up for the classes immediately.
And, if you have not begun the enrollment process go to our website and complete the enrollment form under the Customer Section of the STI website.
As you scroll down through the PatientPortal screen on our website you will see videos and many training and help documents that will assist you in understanding patient portals. In addition, there are documents related to how to engage your patients to use the portal.
We will do our best to make sure you are successfully using the portal but it is up to you. In the event of an audit, we cannot state that STI was an obstacle in meeting this measure as the portal has been operational for well over 18 months.
