Meaningful Use Success for Dr. Rizvi
STI Computer Services announced today that Syed M. Rizvi, M.D., in Havertown, Pennsylvania received the maximum first year payment of $21,250 based on the Medicaid EHR Incentive program.
Dr. Rizvi is Board Certified in Psychiatry with a Philadelphia Metropolitan based mental health practice that specializes in adult patients from 18 to 75 years of age.
He received the full first year payment for a Medicaid provider approximately 45 days after registering the practice with CMS as having successfully implementing the ChartMaker EMR. Under the Medicaid incentive program, no period of Meaningful Use attestation is necessary in the first year. Dr. Rizvi uses a “cloud based” version of the ChartMaker EMR. The software is hosted by Glenmore Management Associates in Exton, Pennsylvania. Glenmore Management is an asset management, medical billing service that specializes in mental health clients. They provide web-based billing and EMR solutions. Glenmore president Joe Graci was instrumental in assisting Dr. Rizvi in selecting his EMR and worked with the STI trainer to modify the standard ChartMaker Mental Health templates to meet Dr. Rizvi’s unique practice needs.
Dr. Rizvi explains, “the EMR monthly fee is affordable for a single physician office and the EMR and ePrescribing are easy to use. An EMR makes my practice more productive and organizes my notes for easy access”.
With the Medicaid program, it is easy to register for the CMS EMR incentive once ChartMaker is installed and working. This first payment more than covers the cost of the STI software. “Having Glenmore host my EMR and manage my patient and insurance billing allows me to keep my practice costs under control. Rather than calling insurance companies for payment, I can focus on providing more personal patient care with a single assistant and no patient paper charts.”
