Dear Valued STI Client,

As you begin to receive lab results for the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) tests being administered to patients, we want to inform you that the Lab Viewer in Clinical will show the abnormal and critical abnormal test results when applicable.

LabCorp is flagging COVID-19 results in OBX-8 as “A,” abnormal, or “AA” critical abnormal. Whenever an AA (critical abnormal) result is encountered within the file (OBX-8), the corresponding To-Do List reminder message will appear in red to alert you of the outcome.

Other lab vendors, such as DHIN, are sending the test results as an NTE (note), so these results will appear in text form in the lab result.

In either case, we want to assure you that our lab viewer already supports both methods of displaying results.
