The US Postal Service implemented new postage rates that went into effect on Sunday, January 27, 2019 which affected the cost of electronic patient statements.

Please be advised that in addition to the postage increase STI is increasing the statement processing fee for the first time in the 14 years we have been offering the electronic patient statement feature in Practice Manager.  The cost to process a one page statement will increase from $0.17 to $0.19, additional pages will increase from $0.12 to $0.15 and NCOA will increase from $0.30 to $0.35.    We thank you for taking advantage of our electronic patient payment feature.  We believe it is a more efficient use of your time than printing, stuffing and stamping envelopes.  Also, in the future you will see some exciting new options such as the ability for patients to make payments online.

Note: 2019 Postage Rate Increase: Domestic Mailing:  “Metered Mail” rates for First Class Mail Letters (1 oz.), which includes online postage providers and postage meters, will increase three cents to $0.50 from $0.47. Each additional ounce will cost $0.15.
