Add a New Phone Number

Use the following steps to add a new phone number for a patient.

 

 

  1. From the patient's open chart, click the ID tab.
     

  2.  Click the Edit Numbers button.
     

  3. In the Manage Phone Numbers dialog, click the Add button.
     

  4. In the Type filed, select the Type of phone number you are adding. Click the (Add New...) option to Add a New Phone Type that is not currently in the system.
     

  5. Check the Primary option if you would like this number to appear on the ID tab. Only three phone numbers can have a Primary status.
     

  6. In the Number field, enter the Area Code and Telephone Number for the phone number.
     

  7. In the Extension field, enter any Extension, if needed, for the phone number.
     

  8. In the Note field, enter an optional free-text Note for the phone number.


     

  9. Click the OK button.
     

  10. In the Manage Phone Numbers dialog, Check the Phone Numbers you want to appear in the ID tab. Up to three phone numbers can be selected at one time.
     

  11. Modify the order in which you would like these phone numbers to appear by highlighting a Phone Number and using the Arrow buttons to change the position.


     

  12. When finished, click the Apply button, and then press the OK button.
