Configure the Scan Utility for Remote Scanning

Before the Scan Utility can be used to transfer scanned files from the folder on your remote computer to the Scans folder on the server, it must be configured. This only needs to be performed at workstations at the remote office. Likewise, before configuring the Scan Utility be sure to Set Up a Profile in PaperPort. Use the following steps to configure the Scan Utility.

 

 

  1. Right-click the Scan Utility icon in the system tray, and then click Configure.
     

  2. In the User field of the Configure dialog, enter or select Your Initials. This should be the Profile Name used in PaperPort.



     

  3. In the Source Directory field, click the Browse button , and browse to the folder where your scans will be placed from PaperPort. This should be C:\scans\<USERNAME>.
     

  4. In the Destination Directory field, enter the Shared Folder where all unassigned scanned files are stored. This is typically the following: \\Stiappserver\ChartMaker Suite\ChartMaker Clinical\Scans.
     

  5. Check the Show icon in system tray at startup box.
     

  6. When finished, click the OK button.
