Configure Medication Consent via Prescribe Medication

You have the ability to configure consent for a patient in the Prescribe Medication dialog when prescribing or renewing a medication. Use the following steps to configure consent for a patient when in Prescribe Medication dialog.

 

 

  1. In the Prescribe Medication dialog, click the Medication History Consent button.
     

  2. The Consent dialog will appear with a Medication History Consent section will be active allowing you to configure a patient’s consent for electronically accessing their medication history, via the Surescripts network, stored in the databases of community pharmacies and pharmacy benefit managers.
    In the Medication History Consent section, select the level of consent for the patient (Yes, consent given, for patient's 18 years and older; Yes, guardian/POA consent given, for patient's 18 years and older; Yes, parental/guardian consent given, for patients younger than 18 years; Yes, emancipated minor consent given, for patients younger than 18 years; No consent; and Not asked).
     

  3. Once the level of consent has been selected, select the applicable Provider for whom consent is given, or All Providers, and then configure the Date of consent.
     

  4. When finished, click the OK button to activate the changes. Click the Cancel button to exit the Consent dialog without saving any changes.
