During the uncertain times your ChartMaker PatientPortal may be a way to relay information to patients trying to contact you. In addition to sending broadcast messages to all your patients, you can also modify your Welcome Message and Message Settings to provide updated information or instructions during the COVID-19 public health emergency. For example, you could update your Welcome Message (the text that first appears on the main page of the PatientPortal when a patient logs in) with changes to your office hours or any telehealth options you are providing for appointments. Likewise, you can update you Message Settings (the descriptive text that appears below each message type for patients looking to send a message to you) for Appointment requests to indicate any options for telehealth or alternate appointment options you are providing.

To modify your Welcome Message, simply login to the PatientPortal, access the Welcome Message page by clicking the Setting option at the top-right, then click the Welcome Message link in the left navigation pane, modify the welcome message as needed, and then click Save.

To modify your Message Settings, access the Message Settings page by clicking the Setting option at the top-right, then click the Message Settings link in the left navigation pane, modify the instructional text for the various message types as needed, and then click Save.

For further details on making these types of changes, as well as other options, settings, and information regarding the PatientPortal, see the ChartMaker® PatientPortal User Guide available on our website here.
