Joseph M. Cerra
National Sales Manager
Joe Cerra, was born in Rochester, New York, grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and graduated from college in Pennsylvania—with the help of a Naval ROTC Scholarship.
After serving as a destroyer line officer in the US Navy, Joe received his M.B.A. in Operations Management, and was hired by International Business Machines (IBM) to sell data processing equipment to the medical industry and physicians. In 1976 he sold his first computer system to a medical group practice in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
He has been in both sales and sales management in the computer software and hardware industry, ever since. Joe has over 30 years of sales experience in data processing, and has worked for both large and small sales organizations in the computer industry—including IBM and Control Data Corporation.
In 1987, Joe published, The Sales Associate, a book on how to use a personal computer in sales—one of the first books published about computerized contact management systems—combined with professional sales techniques. In 2012 he published a 25th anniversary Kindle electronic version of the book called Make More Sales and Make More Money currently available on Amazon.com ISBN 9780927701051.
He has received many sales awards, including Control Data Corporation’s President’s Award (the Bill Norris Shark award)—which was presented to the top 1% of Control Data salespeople.
In 1991 Joe joined STI as the National Sales Manager. Since then he has helped over 1,700 medical practices to select and implement STI billing and electronic medical record software for their medical practices. Besides managing STI’s sales and marketing program, Joe also handles direct physician sales near his home at the New Jersey shore.

Director of Client Services
Dawn Gaskill joined the company in 1983 and has held several positions during her employment with STI. Currently, as Director of Client Services, she oversees the training, support and product management teams.
The product management team represents existing and potential clients regarding the development of new features and providing the expert analysis required for implementation. In addition, Dawn has implemented the Client Services team which consists of both training and application support. Her mission was to create a team of client service experts that are the best in our field.
Along with her husband, Rob, she enjoys gardening, cooking and eating in fabulous Chicago restaurants while visiting her daughter and son-in-law.
Director of Technical Services
Al Toper is the Director of Technical Services at STI Computer Services, Inc. Al started his career in 1981 in the US Air Force. He worked at the Logistics Command HQ data center running large mainframes. After working for some government contractors, he moved onto the Franklin Mint where he was the Manager of Microcomputers. He joined STI in 1996, to develop the hardware side of the business. He is married to his high school sweetheart Lori, they have 3 daughters and live outside Philadelphia.
CTO and Director of Software Development
Swithin is the CTO and Director of Software Development. He has been with STI since 2006. His software development experience spans a 20+ year career, including the manufacturing and payroll accounting domains. (more…)
